Application Letter

Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing in connection with the advertisement that I saw in toddy’s seventeen. I am a professional photographer and I would like to join to the social column to be able to take the best photos for it.

I am a professional photographer. I graduated from  “Arcis University ” three years ago with honors. During my studies, I participate in different projects, in which I worked with a big group of people from different places with social risk from the city. Also, I took part in a local paper in which I traveled around the world with two journalists who were in charge of the international news.

I think I might be useful for the magazine, because not only I can work in the social area therefore I  could work in the different areas. Apart from that, I have so many great ideas that can be useful to make even more famous the magazine.

I would be grateful if  you could inform me when you will be announcing the results of the applications.

Music in our lifes

Nowadays, some researchers have made studies about the importance of music in human life and how it can change people in their humor, feelings, mood and even thoughts. Therefore, music can heel people in different ways and help them go through difficult situations.

People against say that music does not produce huge changes in people, that only generates different states according to their daily mood, which are created, because of the situation that they are living. Despite that, they are not going to cure or feel better, because those changes are temporarily.

On the other hand, there exist a lot of cases where people are cured with music. In some countries is a very common treatment to improve their health. For instance, in Paris a woman who suffered of cancer started a treatment with music, because she was tired of being in the hospital and after 5 months she got better and the cancer disappeared. This was possible, because exist something    that modifies our brain generating changes in our body and with that that changing their states.

To conclude , I believe that music can heal people in different aspects, but only if they give the best of them, because everything will depend about them. Also, music gives to our lives a unique and special sense. Everything can change just listening to a special song.

My future holiday

Sir:

I am writing to ask for more information about The African  Safari, which I  have heard on the radio last week . I’m really interested in this trip, but I would like to know more information.

Firstly, I would like to know how much this trip cost and what are the things that are included on the price. I’m planning to travel with two friends, so if it is possible could you tell me whether there exists an offer for three persons ?
    Secondly, I am very interested to know what are the activities that we are going do there, because if there is an activity related to water I will not do it except if there is an expert guide.

Thirdly , Im quite worried about the day that the holiday starts, because I will have my exams , so if it is possible could you tell me the dates of the trip, please?

Finally, I would like to know if there is any possibility of having a room apart from my friends , because if all of us are in the same room we will not have much space for our things.

An amazing experience ...

Last year, when I started college , I met a group of students from other programs who invited me to joined them to work in Trabajos Voluntarios in which, a group of students go to  work to a place of social risk and help people who live there. But, in that moment, I said no because I was a freshman and I did not know them , so I preferred to wait to the next summer.  When I heard about Trabajos in January I decided to go and live this experience, so I signed up.

This summer, was the turn of the central zone, so we went to La Ligua and we stayed there for two weeks, which were the most amazing weeks in my life. There we divided the work in different areas such as construction, legal , health and education , which was the area where I worked. We worked with 20 kids from La Ligua and we made different kind of activities for them, it was pretty fun for them and for us too.

It was a great experience, which I will never forget, because I lived so many things, for instance worked with that kids opened my mind and makes me think how I want to be in a future as a teacher . It was the best experience I have lived as a volunteer.

International Women´s day 

Every March 8 takes place the celebration of Women's Day, which highlights the role of women in our society and their constant struggle for gender equality.  As all people know in many countries is celebrated. Women has managed to achieve many things in our society, because there have been many changes that have been made that women have more power in everyday life, but even so the woman does not have the same power that man does not have access to the  same things and  we still living in a sexist society.

In Chile there are some  people who think that women have come to be in the same leve  than  man,  equating them  in social, cultural and economic areas.

However, large gaps have been revealed in the wages of women, which threaten the competitiveness and fairness. For instance women earn 16% less than men and in cases where they  have a superior position we find a 21% of  difference between what  earn a women  and a man. Besides women works two hours more than man and to that we can add that they have to do the housework .

In conclusion, I believe that women has to have the same nivel of power as man, because both of them are important in our society and if our country wants to be a developed country should be aware of  this problem.
